VALARCRAFT DRIVE LOG

Privacy policy.

Effective date:

ValarCraft Drive Log is provided by ValarCraft LLC. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@valarcraft.com.

Mileage and records on your device

You manually start and stop mileage recording. The app uses precise location through an Android foreground location service while recording, including while the screen is locked, subject to device behavior. It does not automatically detect drives or require a ValarCraft account.

Your phone stores trip identifiers, start and end times, Personal/Business classification, optional notes, measured or edited distance, mileage-quality information and recorded route samples in private app storage. An active trip also keeps a location anchor for calculation and recovery; the anchor is cleared when the trip finishes. Saved route samples remain for viewing saved trips. Trip records and route geometry are not uploaded to a ValarCraft backend or automatically synchronized with another app or device.

Optional online maps

Online street maps use OpenFreeMap and its CDN. When you deliberately open a saved trip and accept the map disclosure, these services receive your IP address and requests identifying the area you view. This can reveal an area associated with your trip. The recorded route is drawn locally; the app does not upload route geometry, notes or trip records to the provider.

Map requests depend on your map choice and the foreground viewing session. You can change that choice in Settings. Saved records and mileage remain available when maps are unavailable. Downloadable offline street-map coverage is not provided. Map resources may be cached locally. Deleting a trip does not necessarily delete cached resources or third-party logs. See OpenFreeMap's privacy policy and its linked CDN policy for their processing and retention.

Advertising and privacy choices

The free app uses Google AdMob for a small History banner. Banners are not shown while a trip is recording. Google can process IP-derived general location, app/ad interactions, performance diagnostics and device/account identifiers such as App Set ID for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. This app opts out of Android Advertising ID collection. That opt-out does not prevent the other processing described here. The app does not supply trip records, route coordinates or notes as advertising-targeting inputs. See how Google uses data from apps using its services.

Google's User Messaging Platform presents applicable regional privacy messages and manages your choices before ads are requested. Where advertising privacy options are available, access them through Settings and Ad options. Choices and applicable regional rules affect ad processing; declining personalized advertising does not mean all advertising-related data processing stops.

Optional one-time remove-ads purchase

Core recording, saved-trip review/editing and CSV export are free. You can optionally make a one-time Google Play purchase to remove the app's banners. It applies to ValarCraft Drive Log and is not shared with another app. A custom ValarCraft account or purchase server is not required.

Google Play handles checkout and payment information under its own policies; the app does not collect your card details. The app checks purchase status through Google Play, verifies matching signed purchase records, stores purchase proof locally and sends purchase acknowledgement to Play. This supports ownership, restoration and purchase validation. Removing banners does not erase Google's transaction records. See Google's privacy policy.

CSV export

Export writes finished-trip identifiers, times, classification, notes, distances and mileage-quality information to the document provider you select. CSV files omit route coordinates and have no encryption or anonymization added by the app. Your provider may store or upload them under its own policies. Delete exported copies through that provider; deleting a trip does not delete exported files or remote copies.

Retention, deletion and security

You can delete a finished trip after confirmation. Local trip records otherwise remain until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall, subject to Android/device behavior. Local purchase proof can remain until cleared, uninstalled or replaced/removed through purchase reconciliation. The app disables/excludes Android cloud backup and device transfer in its configuration, without guaranteeing every manufacturer's behavior.

The private app database has no additional encryption layer added by the app. The app's online connections to map and Google services use encryption in transit. Exported files and recipient systems have their own security practices. Database deletion does not guarantee physical erasure from flash storage, and local deletion does not remove provider logs, transaction records or exported copies. Notifications request private visibility; Android settings control lock-screen display. Google and map providers retain information under their own policies.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can stop recording, change the map choice, use available advertising privacy options, export records and delete local trips. Your privacy rights depend on applicable law. Contact contact@valarcraft.com to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable rights concerning information held by ValarCraft LLC. You may also use applicable provider controls and contact your relevant data-protection authority. ValarCraft cannot directly delete records held independently by Google, map/CDN services or your chosen export provider. If you contact us, we process the information you send to respond; avoid including unnecessary trip or location details.
